SAINT SIMON THE ZEALOT

Saint Simon the Zealot was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. According to the Orthodox tradition, he was the bridegroom in Cana of Galilee where Jesus transformed water into wine. After the Resurrection he preached in Judea, Egypt, Libya, Caucasian Iberia. He was martyred on the coast of the Black Sea, being sawn alive into two.
