An engraver and a publisher

He worked in Rome in 1560–1588. In 1581 his name is mentioned among the names of publishers of Rome. In 1591, Cartaro moved to Naples where he worked on architectural and topographical views. Only 28 original engravings are ascribed to him, including façades of houses and city plans. Cartaro mostly copied works by Michelangelo, Giulio Romano, Francesco Salviati, Albrecht Dürer, Heinrich Aldegrever, Marcantonio Raimondi and others.
