Comments:
the good quality of the plate from which the impression was made, absence of gaps and cracks permit to classify it as one of the impressions of the first half of the 16th century. It is dated according to Meder (M. 216, b)
Other impressions in the Museum collections:
Inv. Г-118583, on paper with a watermark: a small coat of arms of a city (possibly Prague) (М. 273, Br. 2322, 1542–1545). This impression is later than Inv. Г-2399; the plate has gaps; the top part of the number II is missing. According to Meder, such impressions were made in 1590s.
