MARTYRDOM OF SAINT PETER AND SAINT PAUL
The two most prominent apostles did not die the same way. Peter was one of the closest disciples of Jesus Christ during His life as a human being. Paul became a Christian much later.
The martyrdom was a kind of condition to be an Apostle. Both knew that: Peter, having seen the Crucifixion of Christ, Paul, having been himself a persecutor of Christians in his youth. Both were executed in Rome in 60s.
