Gospels according to Matthew, to Mark, to Luke, to John. Acts of the Apostles.

The third disciple of Jesus Christ. Contrary to Andrew and Peter who were fishermen, he was a student of Holy Scriptures, knew the prophecies. He was married and had daughters. Hearing about Jesus Christ, he believed in Him and followed Him. He preached and his sermons were accompanied by miracles (he miraculously fed five thousand people) in Galilee, in Greece, in Asia Minor. He was seized in Asia Minor and crucified together with Bartholomew head downwards. Bartholomew did not die and later was executed on the Black Sea coast.

Attributes: basket of bread, cross.
